In this 10 session course Sally White shows you how to make a stunning patchwork quilt. Using a range of different techniques both old and modern, by hand and by machine, this course builds your knowledge and skills in various patchwork methods. You will learn basic quilting techniques and by the end of the course have a beautiful sampler quilt to treasure. Be prepared for lots of homework. Pay an upfront fee of £20, for this you receive the pattern and fabric for two blocks. Please Note colours will vary from those in picture, our quilt will be more 'scrappy' looking with a mix of colours, but these are the designs.
Each month bring your completed blocks to the Saturday Sampler session to receive the next ones free. The number of blocks given out at each session will vary
May - 2, June - 1, July - 1, August - 1, Sept - 1, Oct - 1, Nov - 2, Dec - 2, Jan - 2.
You must attend the full session with your completed block in order to get the next one (if you miss a session you may purchase the blocks for £5.00 each) You must attend in person.
There are 13 blocks in all.
You will need to purchase additional fabric to complete the quilt (either to our prescribed pattern or you may complete it in any way you choose).
Extra blocks will be available to purchase for £5, you may need to pre order these.

Scrap Mosaic
Using this ingenious method to create a complex seeming pattern in patchwork is actually quite easy. Nine patch blocks in two different designs are first made, then cut and reassembled. Basic rotary cutting skills and an ability to sew a quarter inch seam, plus a collection of fabrics are all that is required. In addition to basic skills the students will learn quick piecing methods to speed up construction, plus advice on fabric choices and colour selection. In one day it should be possible to create enough blocks to start a quilt which can be made to any size.
