Good Evening Sally and Staff,
On behalf of us all at Quilting Together thank you for such a wonderful day today. To say we enjoyed ourselves is putting it mildly!!!!!
Today was filled with much more than we had expected - interesting demos with such useful tips and a kit to boot!!!! - plenty tea/coffee and delicious cakes plus an excellent lunch - all in such a friendly environment. You made us feel so welcome.
We certainly intend to repeat the experience at some point in the future!!!

Quilts For Soldiers
Would like to say a big thank you to you and the Forest of Arden Quilting Group for the quilt of valour given to my son who was recently blown up and injured in Afghan. He is on the mend now but what a touching thought and sefless act. Billy is with the Coldstream Guards and 21 years old and is the fourth generation in a line to serve our queen and country. Thankyou so much for your excellent service. I ordered from you for the first time yesterday and the postie has just been. I have been searching for this Osnaburg fabric and a friend said to try you. It is now awaiting the stitching to be put on it which I will start this afternoon thanks to you.

I bought the dreden plate ruler (as well as too many other things!!) and am itching to try it. Thank Nicole too. Thank you all so very much for all the wonderful quilts that you brought to Threads and Patches yesterday or before.
You have made 43, yes 43, wonderful quilts, all of which will soon be delivered to either Headley Court or to the other new Recovery Centres around the country.
Thats 43 seriously injured young men who will know that you all care, it will be such a boost for them.
I shall be writing to you all, but I am just going to show them to someone in the medical profession who wants to see what we are doing, so must dash.

yes, please do quote me on the web-site. I've been to
a few patchwork shops, including the much-vaunted new
Hobbycraft in Milton Keynes. most shops, I find,
concentrate too heavily on themed fat-quarter 'packs'
which immediately (the way my mind works, anyway)
makes my mind run along someone else's grove.
Hobbycraft was just too big, too overwhelming, and my
brain shut down after a while- they're trying to be
all things to all people, Ithink.
what I like about T and P is that I can see everything
(with a little judicious moving of fabric bolts!!) and
not be distracted by too many pre-conceived ideas.
